How to be a Fake Skeptic

It’s easy to do, just follow these steps:

1: Make false claims, then draw an outlandish conclusion.

2: Show a graph — it doesn’t have to support your claims.

3: Give a link — it doesn’t have to support your claims.

And that’s the way you do it …

Misalignment

I mentioned in this post that Ed Caryl’s “normalization” procedure was an erroneous way to align temperature station records when their time spans were not coincident. There seems to be some question about the reason why.

God help Texas. Rick Perry won’t.

Politico reports that former president Bill Clinton lambasted Republican politicians who are in denial of global warming. “If you’re an American, the best thing you can do is to make it politically unacceptable for people to engage in denial” about climate change, the former president said. “I mean, it makes us – we look like a joke, right? You can’t win the nomination of one of the major parties in the country if you admit that the scientists are right? That disqualifies you from doing it? You could really help us there,” Clinton added.

I watched much of the Climate Reality broadcast. It was excellent. Al Gore is not a scientist, and he’s not perfect, but he is the driving force behind this project and probably the single individual doing the most to raise awareness about this, the most important issue facing the world. Good job Al.
