Posts about the Thermometer Record

July 2, 2007 · 1 Comment

A recent post on RealClimate discusses the latest attempts to cast doubt on the thermometer record of earth’s surface temperature. They actually reference one of my posts! Also, one of the reader comments refers to this blog. I’ve done a number of posts about the thermometer record, so I wanted to give visitors an easy index to find them.

My very first blog post was about the thermometer record.

I also posted about Lord Monckton’s comments about it.

There’s an interesting post about temperatures in Iceland, refuting Lord Monckton’s claims that Iceland has shown no warming.

Another post compares temperature records of the week from cherry-picked data at the co2science website, to cherry-picked data by me.

I posted about the latest from GISS.

I’ve discussed the presence of natural variation in global temperature.

Another “record of the week” post discusses a good-sized area: Switzerland.

I discussed correlation between temperature records in widely-separated locations.

I followed the post on Shelby County, Tennessee, with a return to Shelby county.

Finally, I discuss the way in which GISS applies corrections to temperature records.

I hope you enjoy all of these posts!
